Labrador tea is thought to be one of the most widely used medicinal plants by the indigenous peoples of Canada, in part due to its widespread distribution through our Boreal forests. There is debate on its pre-colonization use a tea, as this concept may have been introduced by European settlers. Labrador tea infused as a tea is also known to be a source of vitamin C.
A word of caution regarding this herb: there are several similar looking species that are considered toxic compared to Labrador tea – we guarantee that our tea contains only Labrador tea, Rhododendron groenlandicum. And it is recommended to avoid long brew times and extended use.
Our Labrador tea is wildcrafted in the sandhill forests near the farm. It is great to be able to enjoy the tranquility of the forest as we gather this herb, but it also takes a long time to gather the light, fluffy leaves, so we may not always have this herb in stock.
