Description

Comfrey was used by the Greeks over 2000 years ago for many ailments, the old names for the herb,  for example; knitbone all make reference  to it’s ability to pull together and firm up. It is well recognized for helping with skin ailments and muscle and joint strains. It has a cucumber like flavor and tea from the leaf can be consumed as opposed to the root of Comfrey. 

Around the garden comfrey leaves are a great addition to compost, but comfrey grows very vigorously and abundantly and we have to be careful that it does not take over in our garden!
